About Us
Your Child Is in Great Hands

Our Philosophy
Rainbow Daycare Centre has an environment designed to be both stimulating, inclusive and child centered. Children will be encouraged, but not forced to take part in well planned and organized, free flow experiences, that are developmentally appropriate.

Such experiences that will aid in children’s physical, cognitive, literary, and social/emotional development. These objectives will be achieved through a program designed by trained and well-versed Early Childhood Educators.
Every child is welcome at Rainbow Daycare. Every child will have the opportunity to engage in a safe physical learning environment, that is child-centered.
Materials, structures, and objects that will encourage and refine the development of fine and gross motor skills. Activity areas will be organized with the objective of stimulating the child’s interest, curiosity, and desire to explore.

We offer centers in each home room that will include activities based on language arts, geography, math, dramatics, science, music, nature, and art. Every child will be encouraged and respected in their growth and development of their personal sense of self-worth, self-esteem and sense of self.
Children will be recognized as both an individual as well as a vital member of the community through a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. Children will have the opportunity to share in large and small group-orientated activities and experiences in hopes to learn the value of socialization, the world around them and respect with others.

We believe that children learn through play, therefore we have a “play-based” early learning philosophy. All children will be encouraged to explore, engage, and embrace discovery. The Early Childhood Educators, administrators, and parents will strive to maintain open and friendly communication. In working together, we will provide a program of high quality that will result in the children having a wider range of experiences and skills. The staff and administrators’ main priority remain the health, safety, and the well-being of all the children entrusted to our care.
Our Goals & Beliefs
Our primary philosophical beliefs are:
All children have the right to be nurtured, respected, and embraced as competent.
Children construct knowledge by active participation with materials and the environment.
Purposeful play is when children learn through the process of their efforts.
Children should be guided through both child- and teacher-planned activities that are purposeful and enhance children.
It is necessary to emphasize the development of the whole child with a focus on promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Assessment of children should be on-going, reflective of children’s experiences, and occur within the context of daily homeroom experiences and activities.
Collaboration between families and teachers supports the development of the child/children.
The role of the adults in the environment is to reflect the philosophy of the program. These beliefs give purpose to our program and define our practice.
Our Goals:
Provide a play base learning environment that meets children at their unique developmental stage.
To maintain inclusive practices.
To model best practices.
To ensure unity and acceptance in cultural beliefs.
Nurture positive self-esteem by providing an environment for successful experiences.
Encourage emotional development and social skills through providing acceptable ways to express thoughts and feelings, learning to recognize and accept emotions in others.
Support the physical development of gross motor skills through outdoor and indoor activities as well as fine motor development using manipulative toys, free-flow art, blocks, puzzles, writing utensils, and other small instruments.
Facilitate cognitive development and critical thinking skills by broadening the child’s hands-on experiences to increase their knowledge base, concepts, and problem-solving skills.
Develop language, literacy skills and multilingual skills through stories/books, music and songs, dramatic play, large and small group discussions, and a print rich environment.
To promote kindergarten readiness.
Foster responsibility for oneself in self-help, health, safety, and interpersonal areas and to facilitate appropriate independence.
Enhance creativity by offering many kinds of materials and experiences in, science, music, art, dramatics, nature, and literature.
